Month Of December

Working on my mystery quilt, I have done 
only seventeen of the first clue so far. 

Stopped to oil my machine.
We are in the process of buying another house. Will sign the papers next month, we like moving in Dec. That was the month we moved here in 2014.
I'm really not looking forward to the packing or lifting don't know that I can do it we'll see.
Hoping to fine someone to move the big things.
This house was my Aunts house that passed away
in August.

My Bushes

 I have to share my pretty bushes. Its to hot to stay out side and enjoy them. I stayed just long enough to get a picture.

Just a little piece in front of this bush we have a bed of hornets in the ground.

I remember seeing them last year but only one or two

this year its been so hot I haven't been outside much.

Hubby has been seeing them.

He called pest control this morning they are coming out in the morning to hopefully get rid of them. They don't look like the normal ones, we have been looking at the web, they have black where the stinger is most have yellow, don't know what the different is.

This bush is just about gone now the pictures were taken about a month ago.

Fall

We are enjoying the fall at our house. Its pretty to me. I don't think my neighbors think the way I do. The ones next door have about as many leaves off the tree as we do.
The truth being that it wouldn't have gotten this bad had hubby not had neck surgery. He is in a collars for four weeks. We had to hire the work done.
Two days later after all the rain it looks like this again.

 We has so many trick or treaters that we ran out of candy,
 had to turn out the lights, they were still coming on our street until
 nine o'clock the last time I looked out. They were getting so wet
 it rained all evening.

What Do You Think

Tell me what you think about my door hanging. I think it may be a bit silly. I hung it up anyway.
Now you tell me do I leave it or take it down and please be honest.

I went to dollar tree yesterday I saw the hat, was going to get it to wear, to big for my head.

I use to decorate hats in my younger day. Been wanting something to hang on the door.

 So what did I think, there was all this stuff out for the fourth of July. I looked around some and came up with this. I have said I just don't have a very creative imagination ...only two dollars.

Bathroom Window

I just had to show what my sweet hubby did for me this morning. I now don't have to worry about putting a mirror on the bath room wall no one can see in now.

The room is not black its blue. I had to get a close up for the pattern to show. A little red showing threw the bottom must be hubby truck its red.

Can't see it with the light coming threw. I found this on line at Walmart. It was only 7 dollars.
I looked at a lot of then, couldn't see spending more for a small window like this.
I am happy with it.  

My Bath

I said to my self did I ever show my bath since I have moved, I don't think so.
While it is a little clean, been cleaning, could be better but not tonight. I'm done pooped.


So here is my cute little bath. With me in it.

Now I know why they search for the fountain of youth.

                                                                        I would like to stain glass this window... the house next door has a upstairs window.
    I don't dare put a mirror on the wall. I don't know that anyone could see in....you know how that is.

 

I see I hadn't put my towels back out sorry about that it looks bare.

 

So glad to have the cleaning done.

My Bedroom

I've warmed up my coffee cup, now to show you my bedroom...its cold out side, going to get colder. We have really been blessed,  unlike a lot of you with all the snow. The sleet and snow is on its way with temps in the teens.

We should stay nice and warm with our new bed cover. I did try and iron some of the wrinkles out. Its just out of the box. No headboard yet haven't gotten one since we went up to a king.

I know my lamp shades that grand daughter got me for my birthday does not go to well with this.

Everything on the mantel was gifts to me my son gave me the hummingbird, mother in law the lamp,
can't remember who gave me the dolls want to say it was a grand, hubby the blue and white dolls.

This trunk was my Aunt Rachel's. I brought it from her before she went into the nursing home. Its
mostly sentimental value to me.

 The picture above the mantel is the same as well, a dear lady friend of mine went to the nursing home as well, all her things were sold at auction, I bid on this one and got it.
She told me she had it painted and paid 1500.00 dollars for it, its of the fishermen's wharf in San Francisco. She had a lot of painting that she paid lots of money to have done. I only wanted one because it was hers. Lots of people that bid on the painting have no idea what she paid for them and got them for nothing.  Bless her heart she has no idea she ever owned them, she will be 87 this year. I still go and see her. 
She has a sister that will be 91 this year she still drives , when she needs to go out of town I take her.

Back to the bedroom

 Hubby got these dolls for me 29 years ago. (He also has to have his fan running at night.)

Sewing In The Dining Room

The first picture I took of the dining room after we moved. I have since moved the desk.

 

 

My dining room has become my sewing room...as of two days ago. I got my sewing machine's out of storage for the first time since moving.

 You can see I have not hung the pictures yet. I am so unsure of what I want to do with all my pictures I don't want to put holes in the walls and then not be satisfied with them. I still have some in storage.

 The smallest bedroom I have, has been taken over by my quilting frame and until I can get a storage building. I have to do what I can.

    Last week my Aunt that quilts all the time has used up most of her stash so she gave my two quilts in exchange for fabric...that's another post.... have a great week.

Going For A Walk

We have had a nice few days. Sunday I took my first walk in the new neighborhood.
 I enjoyed it. I think my little dog did too. We went for another walk today.
 I took these photos of Abby enjoying her walk.

I love having the sidewalk in the front of  our home. We started out in the back of the house and walked to the front, with Abby having to stop and smell the rose's lol it took us twenty minutes to get back around to the back of the house.
Our house is on up pass the telephone pole.

My Kitchen

We have a gas stove. I am not a fan of gas, getting better with it.
These are handmade cabinets by the man that restored this house.

 

 I am moving from left to right.

I have been hand washing dishes since I moved in

how long will that last.lol

My hubby hung the butterfly when he was unpacking

so I have left it.

 

 

This is when a little more height would come in very handy.

I can only reach the bottom shelf with out something to stand on.

This has been a bit of a problem...what will I do when I shrink. 

 

 

I was telling bj when I moved I was going to have a black and white kitchen and I already had a

few pieces to start with. This is what I was talking about my Countertop and Cabinets.

 

 

 

Well that's all the kitchen.

We did buy us something new for the kitchen a Bunn coffee maker.

I never could drink the coffee at home using a Mr coffee

My sister's coffee was always so good.

She said it was the coffee maker and she was right.
