Update Of My Week

A week ago today was when I wrote this.....my computer would not let me add photos. Since then I have redone the computer twice so I will go ahead and post this even if it is a little late. I had to download chrome to be able to see bloggers I could not see anyone else's blogs either....so if this gives me anymore fits I will have to buy a new computer.

I just have gotten home from helping my older lady friend....I packed up a few boxes for her, she will be moving to a assisted living in Pa in a few weeks up closer to her grandson.

I took her to the doctor Monday.

Monday I told her I couldn't go anywhere Tuesday because it was my husbands birthday....to wait until Wednesday I would take her to the eye Dr. to get her glasses adjusted.

I am doing this to keep her from driving.

Tuesday she went to the eye Dr. herself then to Walgreens then to the grocery store. She does what she wants.

So she called me to take her to the Dr. Wednesday because her Medical Dr. tells her not to drive, she said to me little does he know I drove yesterday and I think I am fine to drive but he will fuss at me. lol so I took her. Then she wanted my help packing, now tomorrow she wants to go to get her hair done.

So my days are full trying to keep her off the road so she doesn't get in a wreck before she gets moved, that would just be horrible, she has already fallen while at Wal-Mart two weeks ago.  Was in the hospital had a hugh knot on her head with a black eye. I can tell she has forgotten a lot since this has happen...she tells me she doesn't remember giving her grandson authority over her. I do remember her doing this. I hope all is well here until he can get her moved she doesn't need to be living by herself anymore.

Today she gave me this, said her mother gave it to her, she said she would like for me to have it. Its so tiny, doesn't look it in the photos. Its about 3.5 inches high 4'' wide with handles.

What is it.

Carol's Hobby Part 2

Part two of Carol's hobby Is my favorite.

Her Dolphin. Isn't this spectacular.

what talent to make this look so real.

She didn't use a pattern either folks.

what a love they had to have to do all this work.

Carols still has a small box full of her small pebbles she calls them

she said she was going to give them away to a Gem store if she

could find one close by.

I have never heard of one but that may be because I

would not have know what all could have been found there.

I had never seen any thing like these before meeting Carol. 

 Carols sister Ardy passed away last year she was two years

older then Carol.

Ardy still had a large collection of rocks. She and her

husband  still liked to collect all different kinds

of rocks and very large ones I hear as I never did get to meet Ardy. I wouldn't be a bit surprise if they

really had some gems in some of those rocks.

           This fellow sits on top of Carol's bookshelf . He is solid Jade.
           Carol's sister Jean is another one of my friends. This is how
                                             Carol came to get the Jade.

Carol's Hobby Part 1

A friend of mine Carol had a hobby and over her life time she has created a few very remarkable Art pictures.  I ask her if I could share them with you. She agreed...

Carol and her sister Ardy picked up rocks... they would even go 

 out into the desert and in old creek beds to fine some of they're rocks.

This was they're hobby like quilting is to a lot of us. 

They would start out with larger rocks 

 put them in a tumbler.

This was a piece of equipment that tumbled  rocks 

to smooth the edges...........in the tumbler the small pieces would break off of the larger rocks

and this is what Carol used to make her pictures. 

There was a rock and gem store in Chandler AZ that carried the equipment they needed

  at that time in they're life's. This was back in the 50's and 60's. Carols sister and  mother lived in AZ at this time .

The little bird below was finished about 2 years ago that would have made her eighty five.......a week ago today she turned eighty seven years old.

I remember when she took this one to have it framed...she used

sea shells to make his legs and feet and beak....he is sitting on a branch. She didn't like the dark background that was used on him.

I think he's pretty.

There were no patterns used only her imagination

 in the making of all her art pieces. Carol said she decided to make the one below a crown....she said all her birds were sea birds.
