Quilts Part One

With the cooler weather it won't be long before we will be needing the warmth of  our quilts. So many of you have a love for making quilts....I have a love for quilts or as I named my blog a love of quilts.

I love the beauty of quilts and admire the work that goes into making them. I have tried my hand at making a few for my grandchildren. Mine are simple. I am not one to go into detail...I guess the truth is I just don't have the talent for it. I love them never the less.

I have a aunt that is a very talented quilter...two nights ago I went to visit her and ask If I could make pictures of her quilts to share on my blog. I had shown one of her quilts before here if you would like to see it.
This Aunt is on my dads side. I just love this quilt so pretty. Bonnet Girl Quilt. I searched the web for this pattern could not fine one like it.
I remember the pattern from when I was young so its pretty old. Her quilt is not that old just the pattern.

Can only image how many hours of work went into creating this beauty.
A close up.

More to come.......

Love the quilt! I make them too but not appliqued ones. Weren't the bonnet ladies popular in the 40's along with baskets?

Sunbonnet Sue is a sweet pattern and I should think you could find a pattern with a Google search for one. If I come across one I will email it to you.
You're a wonderful quilter, see, you inherited it from auntie!
Hugs,
Susan

Hi Trish! Oh, your aunt's quilt is so pretty~ I love that pattern and look at all of the applique! That had to take a very long time. It's a beautiful quilt.
Come on over! :) If you can't, have a blessed Thanksgiving,
Shelia ;)
