My Fall Mantel

Fall is here...I have been doing a little fall cleaning and DE cluttering. I would like to say decorating.
I try! However I never seem to get it right. I guess the biggest thing is I won't buy the things needed to do the job well...o well....I did go to the dollar tree and get two of those cute little pumpkin's I have been seeing in blog land.

I also got a few pieces to make me a fall wreath. I had all kinds of flowers...but nothing for fall.....I spend all of five dollar's here and two on the pumpkin's........

this is what I came up with for my fall mantel...I am being a copy cat here using my candle sticks. I would never have thought of this on my own.

using the goodwill gourds I found a few weeks ago...they are fall aren't they.... this little plate said fall to me...its so close to the colors of the leaves.

my little boxes I have had for years they are special...if there were such a thing as reincarnation....which I don't for a minute believe there is....I would guess that I had been born in the Victorian times....
that's my love of olden times and things.

well there she is folks

Using only my thriftiest finds
and still some of most treasured
like my boxes.

It looks lovely Trish! I love all the colours of Autumn you get. We don't get the leaves turning here it's too warm but I love it when we travel to our southern states in Autumn who do get the lovely colours.

Morning Trish! Oh, I love your Fallen mantle! You did very good and the wreath you made is darling! Now I hope I might be the inspiration for those punkins on candlesticks! :)
Have a wonderful day and be a sweetie,

I love fall!! You've got some great fall decorations. I am starting to think about pulling mine out of the attic. It's starting to feel like fall at least!

HI Trish~
You did such a beautiful job decorating your mantel - a mantel is a great place to honor things we cherish. It's always good to know a fellow thrift shopper.
Happy Pink Saturday!

Aussies aren't much for decorating for the seasons, but I notice people on the other side of the world do it a lot. I love the idea.

Your mantle display looks lovely. I don't care if you snaffled the pumpkin idea from somewhere else it looks lovely and you made it your own.

My goodness - I should have figured if you were able to make beautiful quilts - you'd be able to make things beautiful even from thrifts stores - which I love - but would never be able to think the concept in my mind! sandie

Your decorations are so pretty, Trish! I especially like the pumpkins and the pear and apple plate.
My mom loves the Victorian style too.
Lots of lace and angels! :)
Hope you're having a great week.

You are so far ahead of me...I seldom buy anything new for fall..
I am going to work on one of my mantels in the morning. I will stick pretty much with whites...
