for her birthday.

Easy Street was a 2012 Mystery

The only change I made from Bonnie's quilt was
using solid white for my background.

Grassy Creek Mystery Quilt

My how time fly's. Another year with another mystery quilt.
                I do love Bonnie Hunter's Mystery's. I don't know what I would be doing
with my self If I had not found her. She was working on Easy Street mystery
when I first found her blog, or Facebook not really sure which it was.
I changed out some of the colors on this years. Not enough of gray on hand
so I went with brown. Trying to use up what I have on hand.
I know I won't live long enough to use all this fabric.
Since I haven't been out doing much shopping it just made sense.

This years Is called Grassy Creek.

Fourth Day Of August

Hello To All This Fourth Day Of August

Cut okra Saturday then again yesterday. I cooked a mess then today took my sister a mess. She came over and helped plant it so I try to see to it she gets her share.

She had corn she was putting up, Doug had said he sure would like some corn on the cob. So I took four ears to cook for his supper.

Other then working in the garden, I stay at home, do a little sewing to pass the time. Lately I have not been in the mood to sew so its been about a week, need to get back at it. I have a quilt top with half the blocks made not sewn together yet.

                                         Just waiting on me.

This is also my youngest granddaughters birthday. I don't know when I will see her. I texted her today. I think they have gone back to school. I am not to happy about that, will give them more of a chance to get sick then bring it home, not a good thing right now, although I know staying home all the time is so hard on kids.

All I can do is pray for the best. Take Care

New fabric!

Open the mail this morning to my new fabric!
I did let it side outside for a few days. The mail man said he sprayed it with Lysol. I still left it outside.
This morning I got to see it in all its beauty.

don't know why this one is dark

I was really in need of neutral fabrics. Had come to a stand still in what I could get my mind to do with out a neutral fabric.
I have two patterns in mind that needed these. Will not say what they are in case I don't ever get them done.
With garden work going on and house work needing to be done, not much time. The body is not wanting to corporate in either. So we'll do what we can until we can't. I have been a recluse for months now only getting out when someone else needed me to. Stay Safe FOLKS.

Crumb Quilt

I made a trip to BJ'S quilting on the day my dear aunt was found, she had just went there the week before her passing.

I had four quilts quilted that day and when I got home I got a call about her and hasn't thought about my quilts.

So I will share one of them today. I gifted it to a sister. Ruby's Quilt.
Had already gave two sister's a quilt. Then one wanted me to set her's '' she had made'' together so I did then I had it quilted for her.

Well after she saw this one I got a call from her saying I need to make her one. Lol so I guess I have one more to do.

This is called a Crumbs Crumbs Crumbs quilt. One of Bonnie Hunters free patterns.

I also had my mystery quilt quilted from this pass year.

It has been finished for a while. I waited until I had all that I was going to do this year up until the next mystery comes out in Nov.
A little tall for the hubby to hold up lol.

Now I have another one to make before the mystery comes out for a sister....maybe I will get it done by then.

My Buddy Is Gone

I have been very lazy in my bloging this year. Have had some bad times I am going to blame it on this don't really know the reason. My dad passed away in April then my Aunt Marbrey passed away the second of this month. She was my talking buddy, quilting buddy. I have shared a lot of her quilts here on my blog. I have one last one to share she just had it quilted the week before she was gone.

It was layed out at her funeral so I took a picture. Don't guess I would have ever seen it other wise. I told her I would put it on facebook for her when she had it done and so I did. She was 79 in June my dad was 88. She did love to make quilts, As I do.
A picture of her and my mother, she is in the red  my mother has been gone almost 8 years now.

Take care

Boy It's Hot

Is it hot where you are. We haven't went anywhere this year it's just too uncomfortable for me. Hoping to later on.
Wanted to go to the Grand Canyon, after seeing the fires they were having in the adjoining states with all the smoke and the heat, I changed my mind.

Well the only thing to do is stay inside and sew. So that's what I have done. Started a quilt for my little great granddaughter.
I know I have already shown it once, have done a little more work on it. I showed it to her.

Well she saw Dora fabric laying in my sewing room and wouldn't you know that was what caught her eye, So you know how that went, we grandma's have to please.

Now the quilt has Dora in it.
Thanking about ordering more Dora to put a Border on with. Has very little fabric left after putting it in Libby's Quilt.

Her birthday isn't til Nov so I have a little time. What I am thinking is I would like to go to Marshalls Dry Goods on my way to grand canyon. I could just order it.
Signing out for now take care God Bless.

Happy Easter!

Working on a new project
When its done I will gift it to my Great Granddaughter, she will be four this year.
I made her a small one when she was one now it will hardly cover her bed.
It's still  quite small. Have been having issues with my eyes still, not working on it as much as I would like. Don't know if its allergies or just dry eye they burn can hardly open them up some days.
Ordered me a Oreck air cleaner off QVC hope it will help.
Thanking the fabric may have something to do with this.
Not going to stop sewing if I have to start taking allergy shots.

Sister's Quilts

Winter is setting in. I don't like cold weather lol but then I don't like hot either, wonder how many feel this way. Glad to still be here to enjoy them though.

Quilting as you can guess is my pass time its just about all this old lady can do anymore, even house work is getting the best of me.

Started working on the next Mystery Quilt...second clue came out today.

I wanted to finish up my other quilts before doing the MQ.

These are quilts I have made for my sisters. This one is the youngest sister Regina's hasn't been gifted yet, just had them quilted yesterday.
Bonnie Hunter's pattern Pineapple Blossom.
Two people holding it up so big I couldn't get it all
in the picture.

This one is Debbie's she made the blocks and ask me to set it together, so I had it quilted for her as her gift. Didn't make her a quilt but next to the same thing. Hope she feels that way anyways.

I had posted this one before, Gifted it to sister Martha
I call it my Scrappy Granny Square.

This little ugly quilt was something I just started on and kept adding to using up all the scraps from about four different quilts
On well it will keep someone warmer.

Same here I had blocks that were left overs from a quilt                     my aunt had made. Four hole ones and four half blocks
I took the half blocks apart and made stars.
                May just
use this one myself for a lap quilt.
Carpenter Wheel is the block name. Gifted to a great niece.

Our Trip

We went to Hamilton Missouri. You ask what is in Hamilton.

Missouri Star Quilt Company.

We really made a trip of it. Left Tennessee went threw Arkansas  spend the night just outside of Branson Missouri, next day drove threw Brandon stopped at a quilt shop,  ate breakfast, back on the road to Hamilton spend the night. The next day, I spend going to all the stores.  The main shop..

painted on the side of the shop

only place that was open ,so we had a burger
at J's it was after five when we got here.

Got lucky. one room left in the two places they had to stay.
Only two places, someone could do good opening up a hotel here.
I didn't get to visit the sewing center they were having classes I guess.
This was the line of fabric I decides on. I did fine a few more, not to many. I want to wait and see what colors Bonnie is going to have in the Mystery Quilt before I over do it. lol these are neutrals  so I know they will work.

Some of the pretty quilts hanging in the different shop's.

Back on the road, we traveled to Illinois spend the night.
Then went to Metropolis Ill to Harrah's. Played a little poker.
I don't go to win just to play, something to do. So stayed maybe one hour left thirty dollars to the good. You know you have to have a picture of Superman.

Then threw Paducah Ky back to Nashville Tenn and home.

God Bless Trish

Quilting Mistakes

Just incase someone is out there that has never heard of Bonnie Hunter. She has Quilt Cam for your viewing, it will on her
blog  Under Quilt Cam at the top of the page, todays will be posted Monday,  you can also find free quilt patterns. Once a year she has a Mystery Quilt she shares for all to make.

Yesterday was working on one of her free quilt patterns the pineapple blossom.

My oh my I had to give it up, guessing I was more tired then I thought.

Can you see my mistakes. Not only one but two. Glad I found them before they were sewn into the quilt. I had only gotten four sewn before finding these.

Think goodness they were ok. So I stopped.

Using up scraps left over from my other quilts. I think after this quilt I will have to start cutting into yardage.

Hopeing to make this last until the next mystery quilt comes out, when I find out what colors I will need, before cutting up something that I could use.

Bonnie tells the colors In late October. Then the quilt mystery starts after thanksgiving day.

Forgive me if my spelling is wrong for some unknown reason spell checker has stop working on my computer as well as the blog. Any
one have a idea as to why would love advice.

God Bless Trish
