Two Mystery's

Quiltville's Quips & Snips

The En Provence mystery quilt  I was going to work on....well that is still in the works tho I have made very little progress. Today on her quilt cam she said it would be taken down Feb 1. So if any one want's it, it can be printed out. After that it won't be a free pattern.

My hubby has been sick for weeks now. It started out with sinus then congestion if he lay on his back he had a sore throat in the morning he went to the doctor got antibiotics along with this he started sneezing and couldn't stop I counted up to eight time once. He was doing this so often I was concerned he was going to do some damage.

He started hurting in his right side went back to doctor did a x ray said he had pneumonia gave him a stronger medicine two days later he was sneezing on the third sneeze he screamed out and couldn't move I couldn't get him dressed he was in so much pain. I called the ambulance to take him to hospital, they did a cat scan on him, said they couldn't fine anything.

I ask how is he going to get in a car....they said they couldn't keep him for just pain.

We got home. That evening we got a call they said after looking the scan over again he has a broke rib.   From sneezing we are sure. Three days later the pain had eased up then he was back at the sneezing and coughing now he has done it again I guess its the same rib, he is barely able to get around.

After five weeks he still has the same sinus drainage and sneezing he started out with.
I don't know what to do about it. Three different medicine's  now and nothing has helped.
Anyone have any ideas as to what this could be.

Oh, your poor hubby and you. That sounds like a lot to deal with for both of you and the broken rib sounds so painful! I hope he starts feeling better soon. Pretty quilt!

Oh my, Trish! I am so sorry to hear of what your poor husband is going through. I have heard that a fractured rib can be so painful because so much of what we do can aggravate it. Perhaps when he coughs or sneezes, he can splint himself with a pillow to help take some of the movement. When I first began nursing, doctors recommended rib belts which were placed around the ribs to help splint them but now they say that it restricts the lungs and air movement and can cause pneumonia to set in so no longer recommend them. I'm praying that things heal quickly and his sinus issues will resolve.
