What A Trip It Was

Where does the time go. We went on a trip this past week to North Carolina to see fall taking place, it was so pretty up in the smoky mountains. We or I should say I wanted to go to Gatlinburg.  Got to pigeon forge late so we spend the night there. The bed was so comfortable, I wish I could order me one like it.

People tell me what is a good bed to buy the last two I have brought haven't lasted anytime they were Serta I ordered the last one off QVC THINKING IT WOULD HAVE TO BE A GOOD ONE, NOT SO, ITS ABOUT THREE YEARS OLD.

Got off the subject. WOW the traffic was bumper to bumper in the little two lane town I couldn't deal with it so we didn't even get out. We took another route over the smoky mountains321 to 40 no traffic until we hit 40. Still wasn't to bad.

Our  trip started out in Fall Creek Falls only one water fall had any water. This is the one they call fall creek falls

this picture is to the left of the one above

Colors were very pretty

we also rode threw the camp grounds to see where
we would like to park if ever we do get a motorhome.
Just thinking about it right now.

That's my car in the picture.
This photo was after leaving the lake we went and saw the cabins they set out over the water. Would have been nice to have stayed.
We decided not too went on to Pigeon Forge.

We came back threw Ashville North Carolina on hwy 40 to.
hwy 64 some of the way on this hwy the roads were
awful. The scenery was pretty.

Going around curves so bad people were riding us and blowing there horns for us to pull off the road and let them by, it was night and we didn't know the road and couldn't even see where to pull off
so sad.
One time a dump truck loaded was in front of us we couldn't go cause the truck could barely pull the hills, this was one time we go horns a blowing, I mean these were 20 mph curves. Down right scary at times.
I never plan to back threw there again.

OUr kids just got back from the same trip and had great pics also. I have never been there and driving at my age is not my thing anymore. If younger people aren't driving I don't go. The last trip I drove was bumper to bumper and a horrible accident involved. It was a very scary drive. An hour to go a 20 minute drive. 3lanes of traffic you couldn't put a piece of paper between the cars. I agree that people are so stressed today with no patience and their demeanor is horrible. It saddens me also. LJ

The pictures are beautiful along with the colors.
Sorry about the horns honking. People are so impatient. My husband is one of them and I always tell him that this might be the first time the people have been on this road!!! I believe in safety first and going slow is okay with me.

HI Trish and I'm glad to got to go off on your trip. Sorry about the traffic and mean folks. On our last trip, the folks were tailgating us and that just scares me to death! The scenery is so beautiful ! Love seeing the fall colors too. Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

Beautiful photos, Trish! Gatlinburg is beautiful. My son and daughter in law were there Friday and it was raining. Pigeon Forge and that area are always so crowded during this time. 321 is a beautiful drive. I've done it many a time. Sounds scary - your driving adventures.

O, what beautiful photos of some breathtaking color changes...we don't have those kind of trees here on the plains...not many trees at all.
So glad you had a nice trip...those steep, curvy roads scare me, too...sorry for the honking and tailgating....some folks just don't need to even be driving if they are that impatient....
