The Tornados Got Close

April 28 was my husbands birthday...he is a old man now 60 years....with all the pains that the age brings. This day will always be easy to remember.... that night the tornados got close, really close.
I was in the bathroom and heard a roaring.

I didn't know until morning how bad it was. Power was out. Doug was at work and had a hard time getting home that night. He had heard it had hit the school on our road. My front yard in the morning....

Got two trees both were cherry trees. In the top photo you can see my rose bushes are laying over.
The tree in the bottom photo was laying on wires it has broke to of the power lines and was still
laying on the cable line.

We were so very blessed after seeing all the damage that other has suffered. Both ends of our road was hit it went in back of us about a quarter of a mile. From one end of the road to the other is about 2 and a half miles.

The school was destroyed ......

All the houses across the road from it were destroyed as well as most on the side of it. Just one of the many places it hit that night. Two people were killed in a tailor that was in behind my house about a quarter of a mile away. They left home when the first warning came then went back as a lot of others did only to have another storm in a short time to come threw. There were three different tornados that night.

Its been two weeks tomorrow night. I can't ever remember where I took these photos. This is pretty much what ever thing looks like that was in the path.

Sorry about the gruesome post, a update on my yard and rose bushes to come.

Oh my,Trish. So glad you're okay. We had a tornado near me one year. It touched down briefly a few streets away. I remember hearing the roaring sound, just like they say - it sounded like a freight train.
