1 Cup Sugar
4 Heaping tablespoons flour ( and I mean heaping)
add together, mix well so there is no lumps of flour.
4 Eggs separated, save whites for Meringue
2 Cups of milk
1 Cup of water ( my mom used water and I do )
1 Teaspoon Vanilla flavoring
beat egg yolks a little
add the above to pan
add sugar and flour mixture
cook slow stirring all the time until thick
pour over.......
As many vanilla wafers as you like
3-4 bananas
I use corning ware bowl so as to put it back in oven.
To make my meringue I start by adding a dash of salt
beat a few seconds add a 1/2 teaspoon of sugar beat a few more seconds like a minute
add another 1/2 teaspoon of sugar.
Beat until its stiff enough it won't fall out of your bowl, its done.
Place on top of pudding.... I preheated oven to 350 bake until the meringue is browned to my satisfaction.
The meringue won't make if you get one speck of yellow in the white when separating.
Please let me know if you try my version......
