Update on the hornet's. We found out they were not the usual hornet's we thought them to be, they were ground hornets are Cicadas killers. Hubby saw them bring up cicadas from under ground.
found on the web
It's important to understand that they only sting when attacked. While very menacing looking, they are passive stingers, meaning only if very threatened will they attack and sting. You'd practically have to start digging into their nests while they're flying about for one to come at you and sting you (so, don't do that!). Otherwise, they tend to buzz about to check you out and to scare you away and they probably will the first time you encounter them. Know that they'd rather get on with their business of killing cicadas up in the trees than sting you.
I have been working on a quilt for my hubby. Using Mannette my featherweight sewing machine.
two bottom rows sewed together backward.
This is a 25 inch block. I saw it on Missouri star
quilt company. Called the Big Star Quilt.
Don't know how its going to look I am just using
fabric I already have. It will be a patchwork for sure.
That really is the only kind of quilt I do.
Sometimes they come out pretty and sometimes they don't.
God Bless All Trish

I love that star pattern! My seam ripper is almost as important to me as my sewing machine. (grin) Interesting info about your hornets. I have had a wasp nest in the eave of my porch which they would reconstruct whenever it came down. The last time though, they found some place else. Have a good day.
Like the star have not done this one. I am working on hexiagon now, hand sewing the little buggers. You can go to my quilt blog from side bar I follow.
Show us a photo of your new Machine.
Hope those hornets just keep on with their business and leave you alone...bet a hornet sting would send you to the hospital.
Love your star quilt block....
Hornets sound scary! Good to learn more about them. Love this pretty star quilt!
That is pretty interesting about the hornets! Your quilt looks lovely.
Hi Trish! Oh, I had no idea about hornets. I'm allergic to bee stings so glad these boogers won't attack me! I love your quilt square. My granny made some quilts using this pattern. Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
I have been thinking about using their big star pattern as well. Are you putting the churn dash in the corners?
