Alicia's Quilt

My Christmas is all put away. My house has now been cleaned by my granddaughter....now she wants me to help her finish her quilt. She started this quilt about two years ago...she picked out the fabric some that I already had...I cut out the squares. I won't let her use the cutter I have...to dangerous. She sewed it.... most of it anyways.... we are now laying it out on the floor to pin it together...first checking to see the backing is big enough..........

I used a older quilt as the batting.... that is why we are tying it......its to heavy for my sewing machine.

this was Thursday...Thursday and Friday we tyed it

and Friday I hand sewed the binding.

Its finished....and It didn't cost us a penny.
We already had every thing that was used.
And best is she will love this quilt forever.

 Blessing Trish

Can you send her over to my house to put my Christmas away? lol I just don't feel up to it so it will be out for a few days longer. I love the quilt! Can you send her over to my house to finish a quilt I started when I was 16? It's in the attic. Sigh.... Maybe one day I'll look for it and see what I can do. That quilt is entirely sewen by hand and I used a very thick batting so I'm tying it to. Seems like I went crazy and actually hand stitched around some of the squares.

Happy New Year!

How special for you and your granddaughter to work on a quilt together. Wish I lived close enough to mine so we could do things like quilting.
she did a real good job!

Good Morning Trish,

Oh, I just love this post, dear friend! I cannot wait until I have a granddaughter, Lord willing, to do special "memories" with...of course, I need to get a daughter-in-law first! LOL!

Winnie the Pooh fabric...just too precious! I'm sure that many years from now...this quilt will be passed down to another young lady...and the special story of a girl and her "grammie" will be shared again and again.

Happy New Year!
With love,
Laura
