Since we have moved here the central unit has ran constantly....I'm actually worry about getting the light bill...this is the warmest this house has been since moving in.....I told the man that put the gas in I didn't like gas....this is the first gas heater I have had inside I had a gas central unit in the last house.....he said you will....I already think he knows what he's talking about..........
as you can see I haven't done curtains yet.... tell me what you think would look best...... full length curtains or a topper....
I love this clock ...I may have set it a bit high above the mantel....now that I can see it in the picture....It was give to me with a purchase of a dinning room table from craigslist.
The stockings are from left to right Doug's snowman my Santa Claus Alicia's teddy bear and the stocking hangers match the stockings....they are so cute to have only been a dollar a piece....the metal tin I set up on the mantel came full of cookies..... I liked the picture that's what I bought it for.
Now I'm liking the house even more....I have had the sewing room and the big dining room cut off and not heating them ....hoping now I can get in there and start setting it up.
A few close ups...this is Alicia's Art project Doug hit when working on the fireplace and broke it so half of it is laying on the coffee table.....hopfully she can fix it..

Hi Trish..
My house is very toasty! We moved here 2 years ago, and I think it is because it is a brick house without a basement...A ranch. We have gas heat. I would NEVER want electric..that is cold.
I can't help with the curtains..because we don't use curtains. Haven't in over 15 years. I use the same blinds you have and that is all I use. :)
Hi, Trish,
Your puppy is very adorable. He's lucky to have found such a good home.
I'm with you on the gas heat. You sure can't beat it. Those heat pumps are for the birds! :)
How many windows do you have in your room?
D
Your living room is beautiful. I think your window looks fine without curtains. We have electric heat and I'm always cold. If and when we get to move I hope to have a gas fireplace.
Your room looks so nice, Trish!!! I like toppers because they are easy to change out and easy to make. We have gas heat too, and I'm so glad because when we have an ice storm, we always lose power. At least we still have heat with the gas!!!
Oh the room is beautiful. I think nice long flowy curtains. I think we have almost the same couch. The tin is so pretty. It look so so very nice. I thought that puppy was real for a second.
Have a great afternoon, Hugs, Kim
Your new home and that fireplace look wonderful, Trish.... I cannot believe you have so much done already.... Congrats on the new home --and all of the pretty Christmas ornaments and goodies...
Merry Christmas Trish to you and your family.
Hugs,
Betsy
So glad you are warm, that's important. Your decorations look wonderful. I don't really use curtains, I have wooden blinds in the house. I think a long curtain would look nice.
I think some lace curtains would look really nice but then I love lace curtains which I cant have because of the cats. The clock seems Ok where it is though. You could put something higher in height on the fireplace after Christmas maybe some branches in a vase? Glad to see you're warm though.
Hi, Trish~
I'm glad you're staying warm!
We used to live in a house with gas heat, and it was very warm. We have a heat pump where we live now. On these really cold days, it just doesn't keep up.
Your decorations are very pretty.
I used to have a tin just like that. I'm not sure what happened to it. I may have pitched it when I was in one of my pitching moods. I'm just not sure.
As for the window, I say put up whatever you like. I think a curtain or a topper would be just fine.
Blackie is very cute...he looks very well-behaved. :)
Have a great weekend. ♥
I love your new living room! Everything is so neat and tidy! Not like my house... I would go with full length curtains. That's what I like anyway. I think they serve a great purpose of helping to keep the cold out in the Winter and keeping the heat out in the Summer. You could always do full length in the Winter and a topper in the Summer! change it up you know!
Merry Christmas!
Angela
Morning, Trish!! Oh, your house is looking so pretty and Christmasy. Glad you're staying warm. We've had gas heat many years ago and liked it. Around here, gas heat is a lot more economical than electric. Love seeing your decorations and your fireplace looks so pretty. Those are gorgeous floors too. Take care.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
