My First

My first quilt and first granddaughter......been looking for these pictures now for a while to show the first quilt I made...these are the only ones I have of it and they don't show it to good but you can see my first granddaughter.......
my quilt was a gift to my oldest son when he married
that's been years and he doesn't know what happen to it
it was a nine patch with two and a half inch white strips around the blocks
and a corner square of burgundy......next picture is Alicia laying on the quilt
and me seated beside her

have a good week. God Bless Trish

Oh what great pictures... You looked almost as proud to be a grammy as I was when my first granddaughter was born.

I am sorry to hear that your oldest son doesn't know what happened to that quilt.... That a 'boy' for you!!!!! Darn! ha ha

I have a quilt which belonged to my mother. She didn't quilt it --but it was hers --and it means so much to me.

Great pictures... Love them... How old is that little gal now??? My first granddaughter is 16 now... Yipes!!!

Hugs,
Betsy

What a wonderful post to read! First quilts are so nostalgic, but first grandchildren are priceless. She is beautiful! My first grandchild, Cody Dale is 17 and a senior this year. Seems like yesterday when he was on my lap as a baby, okay Colleen stop it or you will be crying!!! Actually he is just as precious now as he was then, football player and golfer and drives a 1958 Cadillac he is restoring. What a time these last 17 yrs have been, looking forward to many more.
Thanks for your sweet post as it put me back into another time in my life!

what a precious gift to your family. I too remember my first grandchild and now its at 11. I do believe they have all stopped producing now. Hehe. But everyone of them are as precious as the first. Congratulations Grandma. Now you are truly Granny. Hehe
Thank you for your kind comments on Waldo Pepper. I really enjoyed making him.
